Schools’ Experiences of Hosting ITT Trainees and NQTs (DfE, 2018)
Research to explore the experiences, challenges and benefits of hosting a trainee teacher or employing an NQT from the perspectives of schools, providers, trainee and early career teachers (NQTs). Involved literature review, triangulated primary research – telephone interviews with linked ITT providers, school leaders, ITT/trainee mentors or induction tutors and trainee teachers and NQTs, plus interviews with appropriate bodes and wider stakeholders. Total of 203 interviews and visits to 15 case study schools.
